By Christopher Maffei: Force 10 from Kiev—Operation Kakhovka Dam

Subtext: Lets Pretend Russia Did It

In a combined arms conflict on this level, it’s typical for retreating forces to blow up dams to slow the advancing enemy. In this case, we know who blew up the dam because Ukraine said — we are planning to do the deed.

It is public knowledge, the Ukrainian Army had been planning to blow up the Kakhovka dam for some time, It’s no secret. (But) let’s simply believe the lie and pretend Russia did it.

Why would Russia blow up the dam?

They wouldn’t…

To start with, the sudden release of this volume of water inundated the minefields on the Russian side of the Dnieper and washed the mines away. Always keeping in mind, these fields of high explosives were protecting the Russian southern flanks up until Tuesday. And we can never forget, the reservoir (itself) was a natural obstacle between both the Ukrainian and Russian forces on the line of contact. Also, The flood waters destroyed Russian fortifications on the left bank of the river. And finally, this has disrupted the Crimean water supply and created an ecological disaster in the Black Sea. Partially poisoning the water around Crimea.

As the Romans used to say — (Cui bono).

Ukraine did it at NATO’s insistence — anything else is a story for small children.

I guess we can simply speculate at this point. After 18 months of fighting, I’m sure a partial mutiny has gripped the Ukrainian Army by now. That is precisely why the line of contact is static. By American military planners blowing up the dam, it takes away any excuse for the Ukrainian Army not to advance. In the end, what the dumb shits in Washington will soon find out — the Ukrainian Army is going nowhere; along with Washington’s wishful thinking.
