By Christopher Maffei: The Ukrainian Offensive—Eight German Leopards Destroyed

The remnants of the Ukrainian 23rd and 31st mechanized brigades (in separate combined units) have regrouped and renewed their attacks in Donetsk and Zaporozhye.

The Ukrainian infantry, some only in their teens and with no combat experience, were repelled with heavy losses on the line of contact. Including, eight burned out German Leopards, that were destroyed or disabled, and three French armored vehicles that were smashed.

And please, let’s never forget the human cost of this dam war.

Most of the Ukrainians fighting on the line are young boys and teens. During this hopeless thrust, the losses on the Donetsk axis were over 1,500 servicemen killed. And as the battle progressed into Sunday evening — Kiev lost an additional 250 infantry, 16 tanks, three infantry vehicles, and 21 light armored vehicles of various types.

To put this into a combined arms perspective, In the first week of the Ardennes Offensive, the Germans lost 210 tanks. Even to this day, the Ardennes Offensive is the largest battle that the United States Army has ever fought. In another glaring comparison, at the height of the Vietnam War, there were 250 combat deaths per day. Indeed, General Cavoli opined, the level of violence on the Caspian steppe is far beyond anything that the United States Army is prepared for.

General Cavoli, “The scale of this war is out of proportion with all of our thinking, but it is real,” Continuing, “And we must contend with it” he said.

Whether it’s true or not makes no difference. Most in the West will choose to ignore the truth regardless of its validity — ingesting the ‘big lie’ willingly.

Meanwhile, the tactic of attrition on both the northern and southern flanks of that god-forsaken steppe will continue to annihilate men and material. Until the American humiliation is beyond repair.

This is precisely why American officers are resigning in droves.
